From July 16 to 27, the 2025 Summer Universiade took place in several cities across Germany. Team Armenia competed in seven sports and won one gold medal, becoming one of the 43 countries to reach the top step of the podium.

The main hero of the tournament for Armenia was 17-year-old gymnast Hamlet Manukyan, the reigning European champion among seniors. He won gold in the pommel horse event, becoming the team’s only medalist. It is noteworthy that Armenia’s previous Universiade gold was also won by a gymnast — Artur Avetisyan in 2019.

Japan topped the medal standings with 34 gold medals (79 total), China finished second (30 golds and 74 total), and the USA placed third (28 golds and 84 total).
