The Yerevan Civil Court has suspended, as an interim measure, the provisions of the Football Federation of Armenia’s regulations that impose a limit on the number of foreign players clubs may include in their squad registrations.
The decision was made as part of legal proceedings stemming from a lawsuit filed against the Football Federation of Armenia by FFA Executive Committee member and FC Noah Development Director Anna Ohanyan.
As a result, Armenian championship clubs can currently register foreign players without the numerical restriction introduced by the new regulations.
The case concerns a limit under which clubs were allowed to include no more than 15 foreign players in their season-long squad registration, taking both the first and second teams into account.
It was previously reported that Anna Ohanyan had filed a lawsuit seeking to invalidate the FFA Executive Committee’s June 27, 2026 decision “On the Approval of the Regulations for Conducting FFA Professional Football Competitions for the 2026/27 Season.”
The lawsuit is based on alleged violations committed during the adoption of the regulations.
It is important to note that this is, for now, only an interim measure: the court has suspended the relevant provisions of the regulations while the case is being considered. A final ruling on Anna Ohanyan’s lawsuit has not yet been issued.
