Anna Ohanyan, a member of the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia and Development Director at FC Noah, has filed a lawsuit against the FFA. Urish Football reported the news, citing data from the DataLex judicial information system.
The Yerevan Civil Court has accepted the lawsuit, in which Ohanyan is seeking to invalidate the decision adopted by the Executive Committee of the Football Federation of Armenia on June 27, 2026, “On the Approval of the Regulations for FFA Professional Football Competitions for the 2026/27 Season.”
The new limit on foreign players was introduced under these regulations. According to the adopted rules, clubs may register no more than 15 foreign players for the season, counting both their first and second teams.
According to Urish Football, the lawsuit is based on numerous alleged violations committed during the process of adopting the regulations.
As a result, the issue of the new foreign-player limit in the Armenian championship has now moved into the courts. The Yerevan Civil Court will have to examine the claimant’s arguments and assess the procedure followed by the FFA Executive Committee when adopting the decision.
