Pyunik defeated Ararat 2-0 in a Matchday 4 fixture of the championship.
The key moment came in the 54th minute, when Ararat defender Varazdat Haroyan was sent off for a foul on Pikis. A penalty was awarded, but the Cypriot failed to convert from the spot.
Playing with a man advantage, Pyunik eventually broke down their opponents late in the match, with both goals scored by players who had come on as substitutes.
Gevorg Tarakhchyan opened the scoring in the 82nd minute. It was his third goal in as many consecutive matches. Remarkably, the midfielder has scored after coming off the bench in all three of those games.
Vyacheslav Afyan sealed the final score at 2-0, netting his first goal for Pyunik.
Pyunik have played three matches in the current championship and collected seven points. Ararat remain on three points after four rounds.
