October 24, Jakarta. The finals in individual apparatus events have begun at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in the capital of Indonesia.

Russian gymnast Angelina Melnikova secured her second gold medal of the tournament, triumphing in the vault after her earlier victory in the all-around.

An excellent result was achieved by 18-year-old Armenian gymnast Mamikon Khachatryan, who won the silver medal on the pommel horse. For the young athlete, this was his debut at the World Championships, and he handled the pressure brilliantly, scoring 14.600 points — the same as the champion, Hong Yanming of China, who took the gold based on tie-breaking criteria.

Third place went to Patrick Hoops of the United States (14.566). Another Armenian gymnast, Hamlet Manukyan, also performed strongly and finished fourth (14.433).

Hong Yanming, also competing in his first World Championships, admitted he was nervous before the final but managed to focus and deliver his best routine.

“I was a bit nervous, but after the warm-up and watching the other competitors, I was able to calm down and perform my routine just like in training,”
said the Chinese gymnast after his victory.

For Khachatryan, this is his first World Championship medal, marking an important achievement for the entire Armenian national team.
