18-year-old Armenian gymnast Mamikon Khachatryan won the silver medal at the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Indonesia. The young athlete delivered an outstanding performance in the pommel horse final, scoring 14.600 points.

Interestingly, China’s Hong Yanming received the exact same score, but due to additional tie-breaking criteria, he was awarded the gold, leaving the Armenian gymnast in second place.

Patrick Hoops from the USA took bronze with 14.566 points, while another Armenian gymnast, European champion Hamlet Manukyan, narrowly missed the podium with a strong 14.433 points, finishing fourth.

Final results – Pommel Horse:
Hong Yanming (China) – 14.600
Mamikon Khachatryan (Armenia) – 14.600
Patrick Hoops (USA) – 14.566
Hamlet Manukyan (Armenia) – 14.433
Alexander Yolshin-Cash (Great Britain) – 14.366
Zeynolla Idrissov (Kazakhstan) – 13.660
Nariman Kurbanov (Kazakhstan) – 13.533
Aidan Lee (Canada) – 12.366

It’s worth noting that earlier this year, Mamikon also claimed silver at the European Championships, where he finished just behind his compatriot Hamlet Manukyan.
