Sevikyan Makes Spanish Debut as Ceuta Lose to Burgos

Armenia national team midfielder Edgar Sevikyan has made his first appearance for Spanish club Ceuta.
In the opening match of Matchday 5 of the 2026/27 Segunda División season, Ceuta suffered a 3-1 away defeat against Burgos.
The visitors made a strong start and took the lead in the 14th minute through Carlos Hernández. However, Ceuta’s advantage did not last long, as Alberto Dadie restored parity in the 20th minute.
Burgos went ahead shortly after the break, with Jon Karrikaburu finding the net in the 48th minute. The final score was sealed in the 82nd minute when Carlos Redruello Nimo put the ball into his own net.
Edgar Sevikyan was named in the starting lineup and thus made his debut for his new club. The Armenian footballer, who joined Ceuta on loan from Hungarian side Ferencváros, spent 71 minutes on the pitch.
During that time, Sevikyan completed 14 passes with an accuracy rate of 86%, made one tackle, two interceptions and five recoveries. The midfielder won two of his seven duels, including both of his aerial duels. He also lost possession eight times.

After five rounds, Ceuta are still without a point and remain bottom of the Segunda División table.
