FC Noah head coach Sandro Perković summed up the first-round match of the Armenian Premier League against Shirak at a press conference. The match was held on August 3 in Abovyan and ended with a confident 4-0 victory for his team.
For Perković, who was making his debut in the Armenian league, the game was also a chance to comment on refereeing:
"A football match should not be interrupted by long pauses, there needs to be more playing time and more speed. I hope this can be improved – it will be better for all Armenian football."
The croatian coach also highlighted the performance of team newcomer Nardin Mulahuseinović, who scored one of the goals against Shirak:
"Nardin Mulahuseinović is a good player, and I hope he will bring quality to the team. Of course, I’m happy that he managed to score already in his first match, but I’ll be just as happy if he provides assists too. Nardin is a tall player and can also help us in defensive actions."
Mulahuseinović himself said after his debut match:
"This was my first goal, and I hope that in the future I can contribute even more to the club. I believe in this team. Noah always plays to win, and I hope we will continue to work well."
The coach also announced that midfielder Martin Gamboš is no longer a Noah player, which is why he was absent from the match:
"I wish him all the best in his future career."
Perković added that this victory is dedicated to the team's injured striker Gonçalo Gregório:
"I want to dedicate this win and the three points to our player Greg, who unfortunately got injured a few days ago. I wish him a quick and full recovery. We are all with him, hugging him and waiting for him here. I’m sure he will come back even stronger."
Interestingly, in the match against Shirak, four different players scored using four different parts of the body: head, foot, back and thigh.
Noah's next game will be in the Europa League – on August 7 against Lincoln in Gibraltar.
