Red Star Belgrade Not Giving Up: Nair Tiknizyan Could Still End Up in Serbia, But Other Options Are on the Table

The future of Lokomotiv Moscow and Armenian national team defender Nair Tiknizyan may soon lie outside of Russia. According to Russian media reports, Red Star Belgrade remains seriously interested in the 26-year-old player and is preparing an improved offer after the first bid was rejected.

Talks between the clubs have already begun. The Serbian side initially offered around 2 million euros, but this was not satisfactory for the Moscow club, which appears to be hoping for a more substantial compensation for one of its key defenders.

Despite the unsuccessful first attempt, Red Star has no intention of backing down. Sport-Express reports that a revised deal will be submitted soon — possibly with a higher transfer fee or the inclusion of additional bonuses.

Interest in Tiknizyan is not limited to Serbia. Clubs from Greece and Slovakia are also monitoring the situation, which could increase competition for the player and impact Lokomotiv's negotiating position.

It’s worth noting that the 26-year-old player demanded a transfer at the end of the season and no longer wants to play for Lokomotiv, with whom he is under contract until 2026.
