Tigran Avetisyan crowned U15 European weightlifting champion

Young Armenian weightlifter Tigran Avetisyan has won the gold medal at the U15 European Championships, currently being held in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. The Armenian national team representative was the strongest competitor in the 75 kg weight category.
Avetisyan delivered a confident performance in the snatch, successfully completing all three attempts. He first lifted 112 kg, followed by 119 kg, before completing a 122 kg lift on his final attempt. The result earned the Armenian athlete a small gold medal in the snatch.
Tigran also confirmed his status as one of the main favorites in the clean and jerk. He successfully lifted 140 kg and 146 kg, once again finishing first in the discipline.
Avetisyan recorded a 268 kg total (122+146) to become the U15 European champion.
Georgia’s Lukasi Todua finished second with a total of 263 kg (118+145). Belarusian weightlifter Uladzislau Masiura claimed the bronze medal with 239 kg (103+136).
Armenia’s youth team continues its successful performance at the European Championships in Pristina. Following Tigran Avetisyan’s victory, the Armenian team has now won one gold and three silver medals in the total.
