Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder and Armenian national team player Nair Tiknizyan gave an emotional interview after the 29th round RPL match against CSKA, in which he again remained on the bench.
The footballer has not appeared on the field for three matches in a row, despite not being injured and being included in the squad. A similar situation applies to another Armenian national team player — Edgar Sevikyan.
After the match, Tiknizyan did not hold back his emotions and made it clear that he intends to leave the club at the end of the season:
“I feel like the biggest piece of crap and I want changes this summer. I have to accept it with dignity and move on. After the season, I’ll have a conversation with the management and demand to be let go. In four years, I haven’t won anything. The club gave me more than I could give back. It's hard to stay silent for a whole year and pretend that nothing is happening. It hurts when you stood up for someone and then became an outcast in the team,” Tiknizyan said.
He also commented on the rumors in the media about a possible transfer to European clubs:
“What Europe, what Sevilla? I laugh when I read that. You can work hard in the gym, train individually, but without match practice, a footballer is not a footballer. I have no resentment, but I will demand change this summer. You just have to move on.”
During the interview, a representative of the club approached Nair, but the footballer demanded not to interfere and said that he was doing everything consciously.
This season, Tiknizyan has played 33 matches in all competitions, scored 2 goals and made 2 assists.
Tiknizyan’s contract with Lokomotiv runs until the summer of 2026, and Edgar Sevikyan is currently on loan at the Moscow club and will return to Hungary’s Ferencváros in the summer.
