Legendary former Real Madrid and Spain national team defender Sergio Ramos may be set to begin a new chapter in his football career — this time off the pitch. According to COPE, the 39-year-old former footballer has joined an investment group planning to acquire a controlling stake in the Andalusian club Sevilla.
The source reports that Sevilla had previously been in talks with an American investment fund, but the deal collapsed. The failed negotiations led to a drop in the club’s share value, which the new investors took advantage of.
Ramos has already submitted an official offer to the current shareholders. It is noted that he has been entrusted with the overall management of the club acquisition project, supported by a major investment group. Moreover, the bid presented by Ramos’s side is considered the most favorable among all offers received so far by Sevilla’s key shareholders.
As a result, the Andalusian football academy graduate and one of the most decorated defenders in history could return to his home region as a club executive and co-owner — a move that could significantly shape Sevilla’s future.
