Vardan Bichakhchyan appointed head coach of Shirak

Gyumri’s Shirak have officially announced the appointment of Vardan Bichakhchyan as the team’s new head coach.
The specialist’s coaching staff includes Felix Khojoyan, Tigran Davtyan, Artak Adamyan, as well as goalkeeping coach Artur Hovhannisyan.
For Bichakhchyan, this is a return to Shirak: he previously managed the Gyumri club from 2011 to 2020. His most recent job was at Ararat-Armenia, where he worked in 2022–2023.
With Shirak, Bichakhchyan became Armenian champion in 2013 and also won the Armenian Cup twice — in 2012 and 2017. In addition, in 2021 he won the Armenian Cup with Ararat.
Before him, Shirak’s head coach was Arsen Hovhannisyan, under whom the team is in last place with 12 points, three rounds before the end of the season.
