Armenia national team and Krasnodar captain Eduard Spertsyan found himself at the center of a touching story after the Russian Premier League Matchday 29 game against Dynamo Moscow.
A 16-year-old fan named Timofey travelled specially from St. Petersburg to Moscow to support the Armenian midfielder and personally give him a present. Before the match, the young fan met Spertsyan near the team hotel and handed him the gift. In return, the footballer promised to give Timofey his match shirt after the game.
After the final whistle, Spertsyan did throw the shirt into the stands in the fan’s direction. However, according to Timofey, a scuffle broke out in the sector at that moment, and the shirt eventually ended up with other people.
Later, the teenager addressed the footballer on social media.
“Eduard, good evening, my name is Timofey. I came from St. Petersburg for your game against Dynamo, I went to your hotel before the match, and your shirt was taken away from me. My friends tried to help, but it didn’t work out. There were two men there, they took the shirt and said that we had stolen it from them. I am now sitting at your hotel and would really like you to notice this,” Timofey wrote.
The story quickly spread among fans. Many users supported Timofey and expressed hope that Spertsyan would see the young fan’s message and be able to contact him.
The match against Dynamo ended in a 2-1 defeat for Krasnodar. Spertsyan started the game, provided an assist and was substituted in the second half. For the Armenian midfielder, this assist was his 16th of the current RPL season.
