Krasnodar captain and Armenia national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan could continue his career in Saudi Arabia. According to the Telegram channel Mash na Sporte, the 25-year-old footballer has given his preliminary consent to a move to Al-Ahli.
The Saudi club has reportedly offered Spertsyan a three-year contract with a salary of around €10 million per year, not including possible bonuses. According to the source, the Armenian midfielder is satisfied with both the financial terms and the sporting ambitions of the club, which plans to fight for the league title next season.
Al-Ahli is one of the most famous clubs in Saudi Arabia. The team features players such as Ivan Toney, Riyad Mahrez, Galeno and Franck Kessie. Spertsyan’s potential transfer would be one of the biggest moves in the history of Armenian football.
However, the deal is still far from complete. The main difficulty lies in Krasnodar’s position. The Russian club does not want to let its leader leave, especially since Spertsyan’s contract with the Bulls runs until 2029.
According to the source, after the international break, Eduard Spertsyan intends to personally meet with Krasnodar owner Sergey Galitsky to discuss the possibility of moving abroad. The player wants to convince the club’s management to meet him halfway.
Earlier, after Krasnodar’s defeat to Spartak in the Russian Cup final, Spertsyan did not rule out that the match could have been his last for the Krasnodar side. Those words only intensified speculation about the possible departure of the club captain.
At the same time, the player’s family remains cautious. Eduard Spertsyan’s father confirmed that there is an offer from Saudi Arabia, but noted that Europe remains the player’s priority.
Spertsyan remains one of the key players for both Krasnodar and the Armenian national team. In recent years, he has regularly been linked with a move to a foreign club, but an actual transfer has not yet materialized. Now the situation could be entering a decisive stage.
