There is an important name for Armenian women’s wrestling in Armenia’s roster for the 2026 U20 European Wrestling Championships, which will be held in Skopje. Serineh Diana Crane, a wrestler of Armenian origin from the United States, will represent the country in the women’s 50 kg weight category.
Crane is from Glendale, California. In American wrestling databases, she is also listed as Serineh Crane. According to FloWrestling, Serineh competes for Birmingham and has experience in California high school wrestling. She has also competed in freestyle wrestling and achieved notable success in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Crane’s participation at the U20 European Championships carries special significance. For many years, Armenia was almost absent from women’s wrestling at United World Wrestling competitions. Recently, the situation began to change: Ariana Martirosyan represented Armenia in women’s wrestling at the U17 European Championships in Samokov.
Martirosyan competed in the 46 kg weight category. Her debut was short, as the Armenian wrestler lost her opening bout by technical superiority and ended her campaign at the tournament. However, the very fact that an Armenian female wrestler competed at this level was an important step for the development of women’s wrestling in Armenia.
Now Armenia will also be represented at the U20 level. Serineh Diana Crane’s debut in Skopje will be a continuation of this process and another important moment for Armenian women’s wrestling.
The U20 European Wrestling Championships will take place in Skopje from July 6 to 12, 2026. Armenia’s men’s team will compete with a full squad in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, while Crane will be the country’s only representative in women’s wrestling.
