Former Armenia national team striker Sargis Adamyan continues to prove his value in Cologne’s reserve squad. Although the 32-year-old forward was moved to the second team before the start of the season and now plays in the RegionalligaWest (Germany’s 4th tier), he keeps performing at a high level and supporting the younger players.
In the 11th round against Fortuna II, Adamyan’s side found itself in a desperate situation: by the 61st minute, Köln II was losing 0-3 and had been reduced to 10 men after an early red card. But it was the Armenian forward who sparked the incredible comeback.
First, Adamyan created the opener: his shot was saved by the keeper, and Sofian Tour scored on the rebound. In the 75th minute, Adamyan himself netted a header after a cross. And deep into stoppage time, in the 90+3rd minute, he struck a dangerous free-kick — after several deflections the ball ended up in the net. Although it was officially recorded as an own goal, his effort was decisive in rescuing the team.
The match ended 3-3, extending Köln II’s unbeaten run to six games as they sit in 6th place.

This season Adamyan has played 6 matches, scored 3 goals, and delivered 1 assist. Earlier, he netted a brace from free-kicks in the 9th round.
For the experienced striker, this is yet another proof that even with the reserve team, he remains a leader and can decide matches.
