Former Armenia national team goalkeeper and captain Roman Berezovsky will continue his coaching career in Russia. The 51-year-old specialist has joined the coaching staff of Spartak Kostroma, a club competing in Russia’s First League.
At the Kostroma club, Berezovsky will work as the goalkeeper coach. He previously held the same position with the Armenia national team and, at different stages of his coaching career, was also part of the coaching staffs of Dynamo Moscow, Sochi and Pyunik Yerevan.
“We welcome goalkeeper coach Roman Anatolyevich Berezovsky,” Spartak Kostroma said in its official announcement.
The club also recalled that Berezovsky is known for his playing career with Zenit St. Petersburg, Khimki, Dynamo Moscow and Torpedo Moscow, as well as the Armenia national team, where he was one of the team’s long-time leaders and captain.
After ending his playing career, Berezovsky moved into coaching. In addition to working with goalkeepers, he also served as Armenia’s interim head coach for two matches.
