Poland Open 2025: Malkhas Amoyan Wins Gold, Three Medals for Armenia in Warsaw

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestlers performed successfully at the international “Memoriał Władysława Pytlasińskiego” (Ziolkowski, Pytlasinski, Poland Open 2025) tournament, held in Warsaw from July 30 to August 3.
Malkhas Amoyan, representing the Armenian national team, won the tournament. In the final, he defeated Sweden’s Albin Olafsson with a score of 4-0. In Warsaw, Amoyan also beat Arthur Politayev (Ukraine) and Idris Ibaev (Germany).

GOLD – Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg) — gold
BRONZE – Slavik Galstyan (72 kg) — bronze
BRONZE – Razmik Kurdyan (130 kg) — bronze
Also in the top ten:
Manvel Khachatryan (60 kg) — 5th place
Hrachya Poghosyan (63 kg) — 7th place
Gor Khachatryan (72 kg) — 9th place
Vigen Nazaryan (87 kg) — 7th place
The tournament featured representatives from 19 countries. In the overall team standings, Armenia took 6th place, behind Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Sweden, and Kazakhstan. Notably, the Armenian squad was almost twice as small as the teams in the top four.
The Warsaw tournament served as one of the preparation stages for the 2025 World Championships, which will take place in Croatia from September 13 to 21.
