The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has officially sent a letter to UEFA in response to the appeal from the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) regarding the incident that occurred after the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026 group stage match between Armenia and Ukraine.
The Armenian federation stated that their letter to UEFA outlined the events that took place before and during the Armenia–Ukraine match and provided an assessment of the episodes that were the subject of the Ukrainian complaint. According to the FFA, the UAF’s claims are unfounded. The Armenian side promised to reveal more details of their position at a later time.
The FFA also emphasized that there was nothing offensive in the words of Armenia’s futsal player Denis Nevedrov and that the accusations against him are untrue.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Association of Football had submitted an official complaint to UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB). The reason was Nevedrov’s emotional reaction after the final whistle. According to the Ukrainian side, the forward — who plays at club level for Russia’s “Tyumen” — allegedly shouted obscenities at Ukrainian players. The UAF also pointed to posts on the player’s Instagram that, in their view, contained offensive emojis about the Ukrainian team.
The match ended in a 2–1 victory for Armenia. Both goals were scored by Migran Dermenjian. The win was historic — Armenia’s first ever in the final stages of a UEFA Futsal Euro.
Now both sides await UEFA’s decision, which is expected to be made before the tournament’s next match.
