Legendary Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli will be one of the main performers at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to FIFA’s press service, the world-famous artist will perform DNA, the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup, together with Korean-American singer EJAE for the first time. The premiere will take place on June 11 in Mexico City before the opening match of the tournament.
The opening ceremony will be held at the iconic Estadio Azteca, where Mexico will face South Africa. The match will kick off at 23:00 Yerevan time.
The 2026 World Cup will be historic for several reasons. For the first time, the tournament will be hosted by three countries — the United States, Canada and Mexico — and will also feature 48 national teams for the first time. In total, the teams will play 104 matches.
The World Cup final is scheduled for July 19 and will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The opening of the tournament in Mexico City is expected to become one of the brightest events of the first day of the World Cup. In addition to the football programme, fans will enjoy a large-scale musical show featuring stars of the global stage.
