Armenian freestyle wrestler Arsen Harutyunyan secured an impressive victory at the RAF 11 tournament in Milwaukee, United States.
The Armenian found himself in a difficult position against American wrestler Ben Davino, trailing 5–0 after the opening period. However, the four-time European champion and one of the world’s leading wrestlers in his weight category managed to turn the match around and won 6:5.
Harutyunyan produced a remarkable comeback in the closing stages and snatched the victory with just three seconds remaining in the bout.
It was Harutyunyan’s second victory in the RAF Wrestling league.
Ben Davino was originally scheduled to face Austin DeSanto for the RAF championship belt later today, but DeSanto withdrew from the tournament. Following Harutyunyan’s victory over Davino, the opportunity to compete for the championship title could potentially be awarded to the Armenian wrestler.
