Pyatigorsk Hosts Open Junior Boxing Championship

On August 1, the Pyatigorsk Open Junior Boxing Championship was held at Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2 in the Goryachevodsky settlement of Pyatigorsk. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of Hayk “Abrek” Gasparyan and Evgeny “Yermak” Smirnov.
The event brought together young athletes, coaches, parents, and boxing enthusiasts. The participants demonstrated strong preparation, determination, discipline, and respect for their opponents.
The competition was hosted by Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2, one of the region’s leading boxing training centers. Under the leadership of the school’s director, Honored Master of Sports in Boxing David Valeryevich Ayrapetyan, the institution provides the necessary conditions for the professional and personal development of young athletes.
The championship was organized jointly by the Vremya Silnykh public organization and Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2. Narek Khachatryan, head of the organization, noted that the tournament was intended to support youth sports, promote boxing, and encourage qualities such as responsibility, resilience, and determination among young people.
Throughout the competition, spectators watched a series of exciting and closely contested bouts. Every boxer sought to demonstrate their best qualities and apply the skills developed during training. The support of coaches, relatives, and fans created a warm atmosphere and turned the event into a true celebration of sport.
Competitions of this kind contribute to the development of boxing in the region, give young athletes valuable competitive experience, and bring together people committed to supporting the next generation of champions.
