Hungary’s national team head coach Marco Rossi has announced an extended 27-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in Group F. Hungary will face Armenia in Budapest on October 11, before traveling to Lisbon to play against Portugal.
The main setback for Hungary ahead of the clash with Armenia is the absence of two key attacking players: Roland Sallai and Barnabás Varga. Both strikers are suspended and will only be available for the match against Portugal.
Rossi emphasized that the squad has remained largely unchanged: “I was satisfied with the team’s performance in September, so I saw no reason for major changes. We must find solutions in attack and secure three points against Armenia.”
The Hungarian squad will gather in Telki on October 6 to begin preparations for the crucial fixtures.
