Armenian national team midfielder Vahan Bichakhchyan spoke to FAA TV about his move to Warsaw’s Legia and shared his thoughts on the upcoming Nations League play-off matches against Georgia.
“At the beginning of the year, Legia’s head coach contacted me and offered me to join the team. At that time, I had six months left on my contract, and I decided it was time to take a step forward. I was in training camp with Pogoń in Turkey, but then I traveled to Warsaw, passed my medical exam, and signed the contract. Everything happened very quickly, and I’m happy about this transfer,” Bichakhchyan said.
The midfielder noted that he has been adapting to his new team for two months now: “Legia plays attacking football, controls possession, and has a strong squad. I feel comfortable in this system.”
Speaking about the upcoming matches of the Armenian national team, Bichakhchyan emphasized that he is joining the squad with great enthusiasm: “Playing for the national team is always special. We are preparing with a positive mindset, and I’m sure exciting matches await us. We have a strong team and are well-prepared. I hope we achieve a positive result.”
It should be noted that the 25-year-old Bichakhchyan joined Legia in January from another Polish club, Pogoń. The Armenian national team has been holding a training camp since March 16 ahead of the match against Georgia, which will take place on March 20 in Yerevan.
