Armenian Journalists’ Team Finishes Fifth at European Football Championship

The second European Football Championship for Journalists has concluded in the Lithuanian city of Druskininkai. A total of 11 teams took part in the tournament, with Armenia finishing fifth after collecting 17 points.
The Armenian team recorded six victories, defeating the teams of Lithuania, Latvia, Austria, Belarus, Cyprus and Romania.
Armenia also suffered defeats against Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Greece and Hungary.
Ukraine won the second European Championship after collecting 27 points. Hungary finished second, while Belarus claimed the bronze medals.
It should be recalled that the Armenian journalists’ team was the winner of the inaugural European Championship. Armenia was unable to defend its title at the second edition of the tournament but still finished among the top five of the 11 participating teams.
