American fighter of Armenian descent Edmen Shahbazyan successfully completed the official weigh-in ahead of UFC 331, which will take place on September 19 in Los Angeles.
Shahbazyan, who competes in the middleweight division, weighed in at 83.9 kg and comfortably made the required limit for his weight class.
His opponent, Brazilian Brunno Ferreira, came in slightly lighter at 83.6 kg. Both fighters therefore successfully made weight, clearing the way for their upcoming bout.
The Shahbazyan vs. Ferreira fight will take place on the preliminary card of UFC 331 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
For the 28-year-old Shahbazyan, the bout represents another opportunity to strengthen his position in the UFC middleweight division. The U.S. representative of Armenian descent has competed in the world’s leading MMA promotion since 2018 and has earned several stoppage victories during his career.
Another Armenian fighter, Arman Tsarukyan, will also compete at UFC 331. He is scheduled to face Brazilian Mauricio Ruffy in a five-round co-main event. Tsarukyan also successfully made weight, coming in at 70.7 kg.
