On November 29, the capital of Poland, Warsaw, hosted the 2025 Kyokushin Karate World Championship, bringing together around 1,400 athletes from 40 countries. The scale of the tournament was highlighted by the fact that the fights took place simultaneously on twelve tatami mats.
The Armenian Kyokushin Karate Federation participated with an impressive delegation of 50 members, including 35 athletes. As tradition dictates, the federation covered all expenses for the participation of the leading karatekas.
Under the guidance of senseis Vardan Kirakosyan and Hovhannes Sargsyan, as well as senseis Sargis Hakobyan and Petros Ambartsumyan, the Armenian athletes demonstrated a high level of preparation and a strong will to win. In a tense and competitive environment, many were able to deliver bright and effective matches, although some athletes were hindered by excessive nerves.
The Armenian Kyokushin Karate Federation, led by its founder and president Andranik Hakobyan, finished the championship with a total of 12 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze.
