U20 European Basketball Championship (Division B) Kicks Off in Yerevan

From July 11 to 20, Armenia’s capital Yerevan hosts the largest team sport tournament in the country’s history — the 2025 FIBA U20 European Championship, Division B. This is the first time Yerevan serves as the venue for an event of this magnitude, and interest in the tournament has already exceeded expectations.
A total of 21 national teams have arrived in Armenia, bringing with them over 400 athletes, federation representatives, volunteers, and fans. The number of international guests is expected to surpass 1,000. The tournament is held under the auspices of FIBA Europe, with the organization's president and secretary general confirmed to attend the official ceremonies.

The group stage runs from July 11 to 16, with rest days on July 14 and 17. The playoffs and classification matches follow, culminating in the final on July 20.
Armenia — Host Country and Participant
The host nation, Armenia U20, will compete in Group B, facing Latvia, Montenegro, Estonia, and Ireland. Head coach Peter Christopher Dominguez and his staff are aiming for at least a top-10 finish, as stated by Arthur Nazaryan, Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of Armenia.
In their opening match on July 11, Armenia will face one of the tournament favorites — Latvia.
