The head coach of Armenia’s national artistic gymnastics team, Hakob Serobyan, expressed confidence in the brilliant prospects of the national squad, highlighting the achievements of young athletes who made their debut at the 2025 World Championships in Jakarta.
“World Championships are always a serious test for us. But I’m proud of our guys, especially the young gymnasts — they are the future of Armenian gymnastics. For me, Mamikon Khachatryan’s silver medal is truly a victory. As for Hamlet Manukyan, despite a small mistake, he finished his routine with dignity and took fourth place. I’m confident that we have a bright future ahead of us,” Serobyan told Armenpress.
The coach also praised the performance of the renowned gymnast Artur Davtyan, who won yet another medal:
“Artur executed both vaults brilliantly. His opponent, the Olympic champion from the Philippines, was in top form and deservedly became the champion. Everything was fair, and at that moment, it was impossible to beat him. But I’m glad that Artur, Mamikon, and Hamlet all demonstrated tremendous potential. It’s especially impressive that our 18-year-old athletes didn’t make a single serious mistake — that speaks volumes about their high level of preparation.”
At the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, the Armenian national team once again proved its status as one of the strongest in the world: Olympic medalist, World and European champion Artur Davtyan and European vice-champion Mamikon Khachatryan both won silver medals, confirming that Armenian gymnastics continues to develop rapidly and strengthen its position on the international stage.
It should be noted that in 2027, Yerevan will host the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships for adults.
