Krasnodar captain Eduard Spertsyan, after the victory against Sochi, answered journalists’ questions and commented on the rumors about negotiations with English club Southampton.
In this match, Spertsyan was named the best player: he scored a brace, provided an assist, and Krasnodar thrashed their opponent 5–1.
Post-match interview with Spertsyan (RB Sport):
— Do transfer rumors affect your game?
— No, they don’t. My job is to play football and help the team achieve results.
— You had a personal conversation with club president Sergey Galitsky. What was it about?
— That’s my personal conversation with the president, and it will remain between us.
— What do you say about Southampton’s interest?
— Yes, everyone already knows, the interest was real. I can’t say anything about negotiations — the club is handling that.
— Was this your last game for Krasnodar?
— Oh, come on, don’t push it! It’s too early to talk about that. Let’s leave this topic aside.
— Did you have direct contact with Southampton?
— Personally, no. That’s what my agent should deal with.
— Can Gaëtan Perrin become your replacement?
— He is a very good footballer, but that’s for the club to decide, not me.
It is worth recalling that recently it became known that Southampton from the English Championship made an offer to buy Spertsyan, and the Saints’ head coach Will Still admitted that the Krasnodar and Armenia captain is on their radar.
