Montenegro announce squad for opening Nations League matches

The Montenegro national team has announced its squad for the upcoming matches of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League. Head coach Mirko Vučinić has called up 26 players, all of whom currently play for clubs abroad.

Montenegro are in the same group as the Armenia national team. The first meeting between the two sides will take place in Yerevan on September 28, before they face each other again on October 5, this time in Podgorica.

The Montenegro squad includes several well-known players, including defender Stefan Savić, midfielder Andrija Bulatović, as well as forwards Stevan Jovetić, Milutin Osmajić and Nikola Krstović.

Commenting on the upcoming international window, Mirko Vučinić said his team faces four difficult matches, each of which will require maximum concentration.

According to the Montenegro head coach, the group is very evenly matched, while every opponent is capable of defending in an organized manner and taking advantage of mistakes made by the opposition. Montenegro intend to take the campaign one match at a time and aim to begin the cycle with a victory over Cyprus.

Montenegro will begin preparations for their Nations League matches on September 20.

Their first match will be at home against Cyprus on September 25, before travelling to Yerevan to face Armenia on September 28. Montenegro will then play Latvia in Riga on October 2 before completing the international window with a home match against Armenia on October 5.

The Armenia national team squad has not yet been announced.
