Armenia U16 beat Malta and secure first place in the group at the home European Championship

Armenia U16 claimed their third consecutive win at the home U16 European Basketball Championship Division C. In a tense game, the Armenian team defeated Malta 97:90.

With this victory, Armenia secured first place in the group ahead of schedule. In the final round of the group stage, the Armenian team will face Monaco.

Mikhail Petrov named player of the game

Armenia forward Mikhail Petrov was named the best player of the game. The 200 cm tall player delivered an outstanding performance and finished with an impressive stat line:

14 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists, 8 steals and 3 blocks.

The top scorer for Armenia was Dmitri Hadjyan, who scored 31 points. Ethan Leonardo Kazanjian added 25 points, while Anthony Sarkesian recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

It should be noted that Armenia effectively played this game with a rotation of only six players, which makes the victory over Malta even more valuable.

Before the game against Malta, Armenia had defeated Andorra and Gibraltar by big margins. The team now goes into the match against Monaco already as the winner of the group.
