The 2025/26 season in the Armenian First League has come to an end. The winner of the tournament was Sardarapat, who produced an impressive campaign and deservedly earned the right to move up a division.
The team became the most prolific side in the league, scoring an average of 2.7 goals per game. This figure was one of the key factors behind Sardarapat’s title-winning season, as the club confidently went the distance and finished the campaign in first place.
BKMA’s second team finished second, while Hayk completed the top three. Interestingly, Hayk is the club where the son of legendary Ivorian striker Didier Drogba plays. At the end of the season, the team managed to overtake Syunik and finish the championship in the top three.
At the same time, the issue of licensing remains important. At the moment, only Sardarapat and Syunik have a license to participate in the Armenian Premier League. If a decision is made to increase the number of teams in the top division to 12, these two clubs could be promoted to the elite level.
Hamlet Minasyan becomes the season’s top scorer
The main attacking hero of the season was Sardarapat forward Hamlet Minasyan. The 23-year-old striker scored 30 goals and became the top scorer of the Armenian First League.
Minasyan is already in his fourth season in the First League, and every year he continues to confirm his goalscoring qualities. His progress looks particularly impressive:
2022/23 season — 14 goals
2023/24 season — 14 goals
2024/25 season — 21 goals
2025/26 season — 30 goals
Now, after Sardarapat’s title-winning season, Minasyan has a chance to fully prove himself in the Armenian Premier League.
Top scorers of the Armenian First League 2025/26 season
Hamlet Minasyan — Sardarapat — 30 goals
Ismail Ogunsola Olawale — Andranik — 29 goals
Williams Ipeye — Hayk — 19 goals
Levon Vardanyan — Sardarapat — 18 goals
Erik Petrosyan — Andranik — 18 goals
The season turned out to be high-scoring and intriguing, while its main story was the success of Sardarapat — a club that won the championship, earned promotion and is now preparing for a new challenge in the elite of Armenian football.
