41-year-old Croatian specialist Sandro Perković is close to becoming the new head coach of Armenian club Noah. According to sources close to the negotiations, the parties are already in the final stage of discussions, and an official announcement could come in the next few days.
Perković recently concluded his tenure at Dinamo Zagreb, where he served as head coach and finished the season in second place in the SuperSport HNL. Despite being offered a position on the staff of new head coach Mario Kovačević, the Croatian chose to focus on his independent coaching career.
Perković’s résumé includes experience as part of Dinamo's main coaching staff in the 2021/22 season, as well as a successful six-month stint in Latvia, where he managed a club in Riga. He returned to Zagreb in February 2023 and was part of the staff that won three league titles and the Croatian Cup.
Noah, the reigning champion of Armenia, is in urgent need of a new head coach — the team departs for preseason training camp in Austria on June 15, and will begin its Champions League first qualifying round campaign in July.
The club is in stable financial condition following the arrival of new owner Vardges Vardanyan, an entrepreneur and passionate football supporter who also heads Digitain and Armenia Wine Company. Under his leadership, Noah achieved a historic domestic double under Portuguese coach Rui Mota, who is now looking to leave for a job with Bulgarian club Ludogorets.
