Artur Bazeyan Falls One Win Short of European Boxing Championships Medal

Armenian boxer Artur Bazeyan has ended his campaign at the 2026 European Championships in Sofia. In the men’s 60 kg quarterfinal, he lost to Alen Rustemovski of North Macedonia by a 4–1 split decision.
Bazeyan had previously won two bouts at the tournament, defeating Greece’s Georgios Pleas and Italy’s Giuseppe Canonico. One more victory would have secured him a medal.
Rustemovski advanced to the semifinals and guaranteed himself at least a bronze medal.
Earlier, Elida Kocharyan (65 kg) won bronze for Armenia.
