Pyunik sign Alfred and Bamba from Torpedo-BelAZ

Yerevan club Pyunik have reached an agreement with Belarusian side Torpedo-BelAZ to sign striker Stefan Alfred and midfielder Mohamed Bamba. The Belarusian club will receive a transfer fee for both players. The amounts have not been disclosed.

For 28-year-old Alfred, the move marks a return to Pyunik. The Nigerian forward played for the Yerevan club in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. He has made four appearances and provided one assist for Torpedo-BelAZ this season.

Bamba, 21, has spent the past three seasons in Belarus. The midfielder has made 19 appearances and scored one goal this season.

Both new arrivals are clients of football agent Dmitry Selyuk, who recently became an adviser to Pyunik’s CEO on sporting matters. Two other Selyuk clients previously joined the club: midfielder Alisher Rakhimov and defender Tinde Teribe. They are currently playing for the reserve team.

The club’s transfer policy has already led to public disagreements. Former head coach Artak Oseyan said new players should not join the team without his approval. Oseyan left Pyunik shortly after his conflict with Selyuk; the club announced that his contract had been terminated by mutual agreement.
