Paris Saint-Germain have won the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League. In the final, the Paris club defeated Arsenal in a penalty shootout to claim Europe’s biggest club trophy for the second consecutive season.
The match ended 1-1 after regular and extra time. Arsenal made a perfect start to the final, taking the lead as early as the 6th minute through Kai Havertz.
However, PSG managed to get back into the game in the second half. In the 65th minute, Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty to level the score.
After that, neither side was able to find a winner in normal time or extra time. For the first time since 2016, the Champions League final went to a penalty shootout.
The Parisians proved stronger from the spot, winning 4-3. Eberechi Eze and Gabriel failed to convert their penalties for Arsenal, while Nuno Mendes was the only PSG player to miss.
As a result, PSG successfully defended their Champions League title and became the first club since Real Madrid in the 2017/18 season to win the tournament in back-to-back years.
For Arsenal, it was a painful defeat. The London side played an organized match, managed to contain PSG’s attacking power for long periods and came close to a historic triumph, but ultimately fell short in the decisive penalty shootout.
PSG, meanwhile, confirmed their status as one of the dominant forces in European football over the past two seasons and added another major chapter to the club’s history.
