The Portugal national team will take the field against Armenia on November 16 wearing a special black-and-gold kit dedicated to the legendary Eusébio, Portugal’s first Ballon d’Or winner in 1965. The new design was unveiled by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and PUMA to mark the 60th anniversary of this historic achievement.
The kit, named Pantera Negra (“Black Panther”), features elegant black tones with golden accents — symbolizing Eusébio’s nickname and the golden era of Portuguese football. On the back, the inscription “Pantera Negra” is displayed, while the front and back bear the number 13, Eusébio’s iconic shirt number. A total of 1,965 limited-edition shirts will be produced, referencing the year he won the Ballon d’Or.
“Eusébio was more than just a player — he became a symbol of Portugal’s passion and pride. We are proud to honor his legacy through this project,” said João Madeirush Cardoso, FPF’s Commercial Director.
This commemorative kit will be worn only once — in the Portugal vs. Armenia match at Estádio do Dragão in Porto.

For the Armenian national team, the game could prove decisive. If Yeghishe Melikyan’s side defeats Hungary on November 13, Armenia will remain in contention for a 2026 World Cup berth going into the final match against Portugal. Otherwise, the match may hold a purely symbolic meaning — especially if Portugal secures first place by beating Ireland the same day.
On November 15, the day before the match, PUMA will host a special event in Lisbon dedicated to Eusébio’s memory, featuring rare archival footage, exhibits, and appearances by renowned former footballers.
