Armenian professional boxers Hovhannes Bachkov (8-0) and Gurgen Hovhannisyan (9-0) have entered the World Boxing Association (WBA) top 10 rankings for the first time.
Bachkov climbed to 8th place in the super lightweight division. The world champion in this weight class is American Gary Antuanne Russell. On July 2, Bachkov confidently defeated Ndongeni to claim the IBA International title and also retained his WBA Continental belt.

Hovhannisyan took 10th place in the heavyweight division. The champion in this category is Oleksandr Usyk. Interestingly, another Armenian representative, Murat Gassiev, is in 12th place. On July 18, Gurgen scored a spectacular knockout against Chris Thomas to win his first title — the WBA Continental.

Both boxers remain undefeated and continue to strengthen Armenia’s position in world professional boxing.
Previously, both athletes competed for the Armenian national team, and Bachkov is also a Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist and two-time European champion.
