Mkrtich Spertsyan, the father of Krasnodar captain and Armenia national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan, has commented on reports about the player’s possible move to Saudi club Al-Ahli.
Earlier, reports claimed that the 25-year-old Armenian midfielder had allegedly already agreed to move to a club from Saudi Arabia. However, the player’s father told Match TV that this information is not true.
According to him, the offer does exist, but no final decision has been made yet. Spertsyan himself is still considering options for continuing his career and continues to prioritize Europe.
“There is an offer. We are still thinking. Europe is the priority. But if... But there is no such thing that he has already agreed to move to Saudi Arabia. Not yet. We are waiting,” Mkrtich Spertsyan said.
Therefore, the situation surrounding Spertsyan’s possible departure from Krasnodar remains open. The Saudi option exists, but it is still too early to speak about an agreed transfer.
Eduard Spertsyan has been considered one of the main candidates to move from the Russian league to a foreign club for several years. The Armenian midfielder has regularly been linked with interest from European teams, while the player himself has repeatedly made it clear that he would like to test himself outside Russia.
Spertsyan’s contract with Krasnodar runs until 2029, so the final decision will depend not only on the player’s wishes, but also on the position of the Russian club.
