How Mkhitaryan Played in the Champions League Final vs PSG: Ratings and Stats

Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan of Inter Milan played the second Champions League final of his career at age 36 — this time as part of the starting lineup. On May 31 in Munich, Inter suffered a crushing 0–5 defeat to PSG and ended the season without a single trophy.
In the 2023 final against Manchester City, Mkhitaryan missed out on the starting XI due to injury but came on in the 84th minute. In 2025, he started the match but neither he nor the team had a good game. The Parisians dominated in every area of the pitch, and no Inter player stood out in a positive way — including Mkhitaryan.
This may have been Henrikh’s last professional match. Although he still has one year left on his contract, the player himself has stated that this season could be his final one. However, Inter will participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where the former Armenia national team captain might still make an appearance.
Let’s take a look at how Mkhitaryan performed in the final against PSG and what ratings he received from Italian media.

Ratings and Opinions from Italian Media
Fcinter1908 (4): Invisible. PSG’s midfielders completely swept him off the pitch. A farewell note.
Eurosport (5): A very difficult match for the Armenian, barely noticeable on the field and overwhelmed by the opponents’ pace of thought and movement. Inzaghi substituted him with 30 minutes to go.
Sportmediaset (5): His football intelligence is not enough when the team isn’t functioning cohesively. Surrounded by nimble "elves" darting around at 100 km/h.
Calciomercato (5): By the 30th minute, it was clear his batteries were drained. He exhausted himself trying to win ground in open play, but PSG’s vertical passing gave him no chance — and he was often out of position.
Fcinternews (5): In a rare state of struggle — especially tactically, an area where he’s usually strong even on bad nights. He constantly had to chase the ball, often caught in a triangle between Vitinha, Hakimi, and Fabián Ruiz. Had almost no freedom to find space for runs, looked tense and even scared.
Virgilio (4.5): The ball movement was simply too fast for the Armenian, and he suffered because of it.
90min (5): Dropped deep to help build up and defend, tried to do more than Barella and Çalhanoğlu, but it wasn’t enough: limited to dirty work, left no mark.
Tuttomercatoweb (4): A rating for the whole midfield. Batteries drained on a night when his footballing IQ was badly needed. Barely visible.
Il Giornale (4.5): Also shut out of the game due to constant positional switches by opponents. Nearly invisible.
Passioneinter (3.5): The worst version of Mkhitaryan in an Inter shirt — no doubt. Never found the right position, with or without the ball, completely disoriented by PSG’s movement.
