On May 31, the UEFA Champions League final of the 2024/25 season took place in Munich, where Paris Saint-Germain faced Inter. The Parisian club, which had never won the tournament before, emerged victorious. Remarkably, just like in the previous four finals held in Munich, the trophy went to a debut winner — a team that had never lifted the Champions League before.
PSG showed total dominance and demolished their opponent 5–0.
The main hero of the match was 19-year-old PSG forward Désiré Doué. The Frenchman scored twice and provided an assist. It was from his pass in the 12th minute that Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring. Eight minutes later, Doué doubled PSG’s lead. The first half ended 2–0, but PSG didn’t stop there.
In the 63rd minute, Doué completed his brace after an assist from Vitinha. Then in the 73rd minute, Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 4–0. The final score was set by Senny Maloulu, who came on as a substitute and scored the fifth goal.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan started the match for Inter and played 62 minutes before being replaced by Carlos Augusto. Neither he nor his team managed to make an impact that night.
Inter ends the season without a single trophy: first a loss to Milan in the Supercoppa, then another derby defeat — this time in the Coppa Italia. In Serie A, the team lost its Scudetto chances after drawing with Lazio in the penultimate round. And now, a total demolition in the Champions League final. Always close, but never enough...
However, in just two weeks, Inter will have a chance to redeem itself: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup kicks off, and the Milan side will take part.
