Armenia National Team Tennis Players Avanesyan and Poghosyan Begin Compulsory Military Service

Armenia national tennis team players Mikayel Avanesyan and David Poghosyan have begun their compulsory military service. Both athletes will serve in a sports company.

The military oath-taking ceremony was attended by Gevorg Karamanukyan, Executive Director and Secretary General of the Tennis Federation of Armenia.

This summer, Avanesyan and Poghosyan represented the national team at the home tournament of Davis Cup Group IV. Team Armenia enjoyed a successful campaign and earned promotion to Group III of the competition.

Thus, following one of the Armenian national team’s most significant achievements in recent years, both tennis players will continue their athletic training while completing their military service in the sports company.
