Armenia national team striker Grant-Leon Ranos is unlikely to be sent out on loan again this summer.
The 22-year-old’s contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach runs until the summer of 2027. For that reason, the German club will try to sell the player rather than arrange another loan move.
According to Transfermarkt, Ranos’ market value has already dropped to €600,000. In reality, however, Gladbach are ready to let the Armenian forward leave for an even smaller fee.
For another loan deal, the club would have to extend Ranos’ contract, but Borussia are not willing to take that step. If Ranos does not agree to move elsewhere, or if no buyers appear, he risks spending the season with the youth team — as Sargis Adamyan did last season.
Ranos spent the second half of last season on loan at 2. Bundesliga side Eintracht Braunschweig. The loan spell proved unsuccessful: the Armenian striker made 11 appearances but failed to register a goal or an assist.
In the first half of the season, Ranos played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Mönchengladbach and scored his debut goal in the German top flight.
