Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA has announced the launch of a new football simulation game that will be available exclusively on Netflix Games. The release is planned for summer 2026, coinciding with the world’s biggest football event.
The project is being developed and published by Delphi Interactive. The new game is positioned as a reimagining of the classic FIFA formula: developers focus on accessibility, quick entry, and vibrant emotions that capture the atmosphere of the World Cup. Players will be able to play solo or online with friends. All that users need is an active Netflix subscription and a smartphone.
Netflix Games’ head, Alain Tascan, emphasized that the 2026 World Cup will be a key cultural event of the decade, and the new game will allow fans to be part of the celebration from home. According to him, the goal of the project is to bring football back to its roots, making the game simple and understandable for everyone.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino called the collaboration with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive a major milestone in the development of digital football games. He noted that the new FIFA game will be free for Netflix subscribers and will mark the start of a “new era of digital football,” targeting audiences of all ages worldwide.
Delphi Interactive’s management also highlights the project’s ambitions. The studio founders say they aim to create the most fun, accessible, and truly global football simulator, playable by anyone regardless of experience or location.
Special attention is given to the format: millions of users already watch Netflix on TVs, and now they will be able to play there as well. The new FIFA will be part of the TV games catalog, with the smartphone serving as a controller—alongside the service’s series and movies.
Details about gameplay and features will be revealed in 2026. For now, FIFA and Netflix call this announcement a symbolic kickoff ahead of a major football and digital event.
