U16 EuroBasket in Yerevan: Armenia starts against Andorra

The FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division C begins today, July 4, in Yerevan. The tournament will feature 9 national teams, with Armenia hosting the competition.
Armenia’s U16 national team will play in Group B. The Armenian side will face Andorra, Malta, Gibraltar and Monaco. Group A includes Kosovo, Albania, San Marino and Moldova.
Armenia will play its first match of the home tournament today. The team will face Andorra, with tip-off scheduled for 19:00 Yerevan time.

This tournament is especially important for the Armenian team. The Basketball Federation of Armenia has made no secret of the fact that the team’s main goal at the home championship is to win the title. Last year, Armenia U16 finished third in Division C and came close to reaching the final.
Now the team has a chance to take the next step on home court, with the support of the fans in Yerevan.
