Armenian fighter Eduard Vartanyan and Georgia’s Levan Chokheli could not determine a winner at the HYPE Georgia event in Tbilisi.
The bout was contested under Submission Only rules and went the full scheduled distance of 10 minutes. Neither fighter managed to secure a submission via a joint lock or choke, so the contest ended in a draw.
Vartanyan and Chokheli were highly active throughout the match, constantly engaging in grappling exchanges and attempting to improve their positions. However, neither fighter was able to establish prolonged full control or create a truly dangerous submission opportunity.
The HYPE Georgia event took place in Tbilisi on September 19.
Levan Chokheli recently joined the UFC roster. In his debut with the world’s leading MMA promotion, he defeated Armenian fighter Leon Shahbazyan.
For Eduard Vartanyan, the appearance in Tbilisi was another competitive outing ahead of his return to MMA. The Armenian fighter is expected to compete again in December at an ACA event.
