World Armwrestling Championship 2025: Results and Successes of Armenian Athletes

The 46th World Armwrestling Championship was held in the Bulgarian resort city of Albena from September 7 to 24, 2025. The tournament brought together the strongest athletes from around the globe, competing in youth, junior, masters, and senior categories. It became one of the largest events in recent years, with more than fifty national teams delivering many spectacular and intense matches.
Medal Table — World Championship 2025
Kazakhstan took first place in the overall standings, confidently confirming its status as the world’s armwrestling leader: 46 gold, 40 silver, and 17 bronze medals (997 points).
Georgia came second with 28 gold, 12 silver, and 14 bronze (538 points).
Turkey placed third with 22 gold, 36 silver, and 14 bronze (719 points).
Ukraine and Bulgaria also made it into the top five.

Armenia at the Championship
The Armenian national team once again proved to be a significant force in world armwrestling. In the overall team ranking, Armenia placed 9th with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals (118 points).
Among seniors, Armenian athletes earned 2 silver medals and ranked 9th in their category.
The greatest success came in the youth competitions (U15, U18, U23), where Armenia secured 4th place overall, with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze. Another gold was brought by the women’s U23 team.
Thus, Armenian athletes confirmed the high level of the national armwrestling school, performing with dignity both among juniors and adults.
