Spanish specialist Joaquín Caparrós has been appointed as Sevilla’s head coach for the fourth time. The 69-year-old signed a contract until the end of the current season, replacing Francisco García Pimienta, who was dismissed due to the team's poor results.
Caparrós will be in charge for the remaining seven matches of the 2024/25 season. This marks his fourth return to the club — he previously managed Sevilla from 2000 to 2005, and again in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons (the latter for 11 matches).
Caparrós’s last job was with the Armenia national team, which he coached from 2020 to 2022. Under his leadership, the Armenian team achieved a historic victory by winning their group in the UEFA Nations League C division.
